Stephanie Northcutt - Soprano

Stephanie's most recent work, is the publishing of "Hushhh...don't say a word"  Lullabies and Art.  This is a book with CD.  It features artwork from the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts  - Houston, photography by Christine meeker, award winning student artwork from the Houston Area and a CD of timeless lullabies performed by Stephanie and Will Riley, guitar.  All proceeds benefit the Museum of Fine Arts-Houston's new branch, The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts - Cypress Creek.  This collection is $28.00 plus tax.  Please see below for ordering.

Stephanie Northcutt completed her Musical studies at Sam Houston State University (M.M.),and Texas Christian University(B.M.E)

 

Stephanie most recently sang the role of the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro at Duke University.. She was a returning guest after her February 2003 performance of The Brahms Requiem and her 2004 performance of The Four last Songs of Strauss .   Stephanie spent the summer of 2002 participating in Portland Opera's Performing Institute led by Tito Capobianco where she performed various arias and ensembles from  La Boheme and La Traviata.

 

Stephanie spent the summer of 2001 as a member of the Young Artist Program through the Caramoor Festival under the direction of Maestro Will Crutchfield. Through the Minnesota Opera, Stephanie was a 1999-2000 member of their Resident Artist Program. While in residence, she performed and covered roles such as The Countess, Marianne, and Semiramide.  

 

 In the summer of 1997, she was a member of the Opera Program at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and returned abroad to sing the title role in "The Merry Widow" through Operafestival di roma -Rome, Italy in June 1999. In 1998 she was a member of the singing and tap dancing company in Ameritech's "Yuletide Celebration" through the Indianapolis Symphony and a member of the Young Artist Program with the Chautauqua Opera. 

 

Her many awards include National Opera Association Finalist, Dallas Opera Guild Finalist, MTNA first runner-up (Nationals), NATS first place winner and MacAllister Award Regional Winner.
